The integral part of the Conference from the very beginning is a one day Short Course on Polymer Characterization that takes place before the Forum. The idea of the Course is to provide basic information for students and newcomers in the field as well as an up-to-date overview of the popular characterization techniques by well-known specialists in a condensed presentation covered by the reference material.
A peculiarity of the Course is that the lecturers are available to the participants during the whole conference. The Course has also turned out to be a good preparation for many of the participants to better understand the subsequent research presentations.
Numerous lecturers during the past POLYCHAR Conferences were the leading experts and covered various topics of polymer characterization, such as atomic force microscopy, dynamic mechanical thermal analysis, chromatography, polymer rheology, tribology, electron microscopy, scattering techniques, spectroscopy, mechanical and micromechanical testing methods, chemistry of nanocomposites, routes to green composite materials etc.
A Short Course on Polymer Characterization will be held on 26 March 2012, the first day of the POLYCHAR 20 World Forum on Advanced Materials. The Course is free for the registered Conference participants. Participants who intend to attend the Course should state this clearly in the Registration Form.
The 20th Tutorial on Polymer Characterization will be available for download as a .pdf file to the registered participants.
Selected speakers/instructors for the one-day Short Course on Polymer Characterization at POLYCHAR 2O World Forum on Advanced Materials:
Lecture: 40 min + 5 min discussion
